I think there are going to be some interesting oil plays in Russia coming up. However, the Kremlin has 50% plus 1 share control of Gazprom which is always a bad sign. You really can't tell what the Kremlin's next move is after that whole Yukos abomination. One fact that attracted my attention was the fact that Gazprom could be the largest oil producer in the world. There is much speculation that they will take over the failed Yukos fields as well as other fields yet to be awarded by the government. This would put Gazprom ahead of all the major oil producers in the world. Yet the question remains, can you trust the Kremlin with your money? I think not.
