The problem with Bush is that he might honestly believe what he says about Iraq, that it will work out in the end.

Eighteen months ago Bush fired Larry Lindsay for saying the Iraqi war might cost $200 billion. We were told Iraqi oil revenues would be used to finance the occupation and rebuilding. We were told that American soldiers would be welcomed with flowers and Bush claimed "Mission Accomplished. Fast forward to the current situation in which numerous Iraqi cities are "no go" for our soldiers, were deaths are running 75 a month, January elections look improbable and there literally is no end in sight to the killing.

How Bush gets from his line of 18 months ago to his line now is what worries me. Is he lucid?
