The principal problem I have with the memos
is that CBS failed to establish the chain of
custody and to do what is typically required
to authenticate documents.

That criticism has nothing to do with
examination of the documents themselves
to determine whether they were faked.

Rather, it concerns the necessary foundation
to even suggest, in the first instance, that
the documents are what they purport to be.

The computer vs. typewriter, etc. analysis
is secondary to that, imo.
