Valuespec, I'm sure you've been on SI long enough to see
that any particular thread, at any particular instance
has somebody calling another another participant an idiot.
Also, at any given moment, on any given thread, you will see
somebody forecasting projections which later turn out
to be completely wrong. Such is the nature of a public
discussion forum. The phrase, "Big Deal" comes to mind.

But you do not see public bounties being placed -- much
less bounties wherein the placer of said bounty has confirmed
that the victim was telling the truth. That is completely
unacceptable. And that is the core issue.
