IMHO, Swiftvets are nothing more than a band of "LEGALIZED" LIARS! each one with a chip on his shoulder. They are a bunch of Bush's and O'Neill's "useful idiots". I won't be surprised if they were bribed by the Bush campaign. Let's look at the facts. Kerry saw action in Vietnam and HEARD soldiers tell of massacres and atrocities they committed. When he returned to America he testified against continuing with the war citing it was a war which was started on a false premise (Domino Theory) and escalated on false pretenses (Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1968), and a war which was ruinous to America in terms of money and men. Journalists who had ventured into the war zones also heard soldiers tell of atrocities and massacres of Vietnamese civilians. Joe Klein of TIME was one of the journalists and he has vouched for Kerry's truthfulness in this regard. Kerry did not blame the soldiers for what they did or for what crimes they were alleged to have committed. He put the blame squarely on the US Government and rallied enough support to force Nixon to end the war. Since his activism and testimony in 1971, it appears that much has been done to discredit him, including manipulating veteran opinion against him and turning him into some sort of a "scapegoat" and a traitorous character. But now with Bush's re-election at stake, the Bushies are doing their damndest to destroy Kerry. IMHO, never in US election history has so much skulduggery been foisted upon a seemingly docile and unthinking public to portray Kerry as someone utterly unfit to be the next president. The ferocity and relentlessness of the attacks against Kerry cannot but convince anyone that the Bushies and their shills are deathly afraid of Kerry. If this is not the case, why do they care so much. To be sure, Kerry knows all that is being done to destroy him is really a COMPLIMENT to him, perverse as this may appear to be.
