Mani,

What in the world are you talking about, have you seen the latest polls?

There will always be some oddball polls, and it is entirely possible it is a trend. But if it is a trend, it needs to be confirmed by other polls.

Sure it is not Electoral College, but it says a lot about how much things changed from beginning of September to September 10th. Those state polls are dated and irrelevant.

Some are a little dated and irrelevant (Utah, Maryland, Texas, Massatchusetts), but state polls are more relevant, and theoretically, they should be more accurate.

I say theoretically, because they tend to jump a lot. But then, that may actually be accurate, reflecting changing opinions.

This election is very close and difficult to call.

That's for sure. But, considering the challenging times we live in, self inflicted wounds that Bush caused by some of his own mistakes (or unresolved issues that may in long run be proven to be mistakes), the fact that Bush is still in it, and in a good position to actually win this is quite amazing, IMO. If Democrats nominated a competent candidate, this would not be a close election.

Joe
