Richard,

I was just thinking also that the T.A. community needed a 'computer' hardware & software(ie... netscape...win 95 etc...) discussion. I'll throw a little blerp in here to get started...

I think some people out there have fast hard drives already but are not getting the speed they 'deserve'. One way to check for this is to look how many programs you have running at the bottom of your win95 screen ie... norton anti-virus, clean sweep, norton util, first aid 97 etc...

I started from scratch a couple months back(well not exactly from scratch just deleted win95 and re-installed...kept the rest of the programs on there...only re-installed the programs that I thought VITAL) I am noticing a significant increase in my H.D. speed due to the removal of some of those little programs that hide in the bottom of the win95 screen.

you might want to try it...

also I noticed an ad in the recent computer magazines advertising a software program that is supposed to increase H.D. speed to a large degree(can't remember the name though...new one with a techno looking toolbox)... anyone use this, and the results... If I think of the program name I'll post it...
