Tenchusatsu, when this was posted over a year ago, I was hurt you didn't express concern over this racist hate-attack, given you lived in Oregon. And I was also hurt you didn't express disappointment and concern the Oregon judge didn't prosecute according to the Federal hate-protection laws, even though it was a racist hate-attack and should have been prosecuted as such.

After reading today's post, I am puzzled because it appears this disturbing incident either didn't concern you enough for you to even remember it, or more likely possibly you just didn't see my post (though you were posting the same day) or possibly you missed this story in the news (it was in CNN, etc.) I'm going to assume you didn't hear about the story in the news and apparently missed my post.

RE: "Having lived in Oregon for six years, it's hard for me to imagine such a "hate crime" going unpunished in the Northwest"

The racist-attack wasn't anywhere where Intel is located. Wasn't Hillsboro, nor the Portland area, wasn't anywhere on the West coast of Oregon where you live.

The area you lived in is very receptive to diversity. Lovely area. Unfortunately, there are problem spots in another area of Oregon, as demonstrated by how it was handled by the jurisdiction as well as other incidents.

Regards,
Amy J
