I hear ya. I build systems occasionally for friends and family. It keeps my hands up to date on new hardware. What I do is after I build the system I partition the hard drive, move the My documents to D drive, move the favorite to the My Documents file. Store outlook backup to a file in My Documents. Then I load all the free software that I think they will use after installing the OS. Then I make an image to a CD and send the computer on it's way. In a couple of months after I most certainly get that call HELP, I just have to look what they've installed and any personnal information not in the right place is backed up I image everything back to the original status. Saves me hours of work sitting at a computer.
