Southern people had it drilled into their heads, almost from birth, that in order to be a good person in life, you have to treat others like you want them to treat you. That may be in the bible, but it is also a simple explanation of what being a good person is, regardless of religious belief.

His reforms to solve the great depression were not working, so over 2,000 people had to die on a Sunday morning to bring the nation into a war time economy. Once the Kennedys came into prominence in the political circus, the democratic party was in the early stages of becoming a socialistic body. Those Kennedys think they're so great, and try to hide the truth, that old man Joe was a bootlegger, and smuggler.
Kerry has lied to himself for so many years, that he has come to believe his own lies, and thinks that he is something he could never come close to being.
