A plot is defined as " A secret plan to accomplish a hostile or illegal purpose; a scheme."

It isn't illegal. It might be considered hostile, but if its true its at least as much an attempt to set the record straight as it is a hostile plan. Most important of all the plan is hardly secret. If it is "a plot" than all the 527's (at least those that are mainly against a candidate rather than for the other candidate) and the parties for that matter are plots.
