Let's talk about this memos some more. It's working. What's this kern stuff? Can a memo really be forged and true? What if a memo falls from the tree and nobody hears it. Did it really make sound. What if a memo was never written, only discussed, does the memo exist? What if non-existent memo is written by some creative writer, just as an exercise, fiction, kind of "what if". Is it a forgery.

There may not have had the technology to do the proportional stuff, kern, superscripts, but what it a more advanced civilization (one with Microsoft Word) send an envoy to planet Earth, and located that secretary, and presented her with this technology as an integalactic token of friendship? Then, it would not be a forgery, would it?
