This is a great point. Forget the debate about the obviously fake memos. Forget Dan Rather and his 60 Minutes story. The real question is, "So, what?".

There is no evidence, that I've seen, indicating Bush received "preferential treatment". But if he did, it wasn't substantive. The guy was a trained fighter pilot, served, and based on the available evidence (which includes an Honorable Discharge) served admirably.

Some have argued that Bush leapfrogged to the front of the line, but as G. Liddy has pointed out, there WAS NO LINE of credentialed people willing to be Guard fighter pilots.

This is politics. And it looks more like politics as the days wear on and the next false allegation comes out (most recent, Cheney's Haliburton "profit motive"). Honestly, I think Kerry is starting to look fairly pathetic to most people.
