All the more reason a total overhaul ('special tax preference' and loophole elimination effort) of our corrupted tax system is long overdue.

Re: 'voluntary tax' :)

As the late US Appeals Court judge Learned Hand once wrote: "There is nothing sinister about arranging one's affairs so as to keep taxes as low as possible...nobody owes any duty to pay more than the law demands."

(I don't see you arguing for anyone to 'voluntarily forgo use of the oil depletion allowance', and pay higher taxes on their investment income, for example.)
