IMHO, ASND will not meet estimate this qtr. They had to stretch to barely make it last qtr thereby depleting the order pipeline. However, the earning warnings will not come out until late in Sept 97. The NTT deal won't start contributeing to earnings until next qtr. ASND could fall by at least 10 pts if there is a warnings. A Merger of 2 cos of comparable size and different cultures would take time to materialize. There are many lessons in the NW history such as BAY (Welfleet+Synoptics), COMS+USRX, and now ASND+CSCC. The CSCO's CEO has mentioned the same thing. Furthermore, CSCO, COMS, BAY are making strong inroad into RAC, RAS, WAN.
