I own some Paramount, PWT_u.to or pwt.un here. I don't buy a lot because the distributions though handsome are almost all taxed as ordinary income and my bracket is about 54% counting Ontario income tax. So for my purposes CNQ, PEY.TO, STO etc. are better as most of the 10 year return will be capital gain. That's why I own a lot of AE.un. If you are investing inside of an RRSP and your broker will do the DRIP you are in good shape. Also there is in the US something called the Roth plan;
I'm not sure if it's the same or not. Anyway, when income taxes are high they become important. Especially here in Canada where the quaint style of a balanced government budget has been adopted for the last few years. In order to balance the budget income taxes must be high. I don't have an RRSP but if I did I would buy lots of PRT.UN.
