Just happened to catch some of Maureen Dowd's book party on C-Span II. Never heard her voice before. She sounds like Susan Estrich on Quaaludes. Had to flip away when a CBS newsie laid a big smooch on her... edit- I believe the CBS newsie was Bill Plante....
