I would laugh -- but you might be serious. You are proposing an invasion of Iraq and/or a limited strike against Iran. An invasion of Iran -- ya, that will bring stability to the region.

Iran is a far greater threat than Iraq ever was. Iraq has already been invaded and for the same reasons-WMD's including a nuclear weapons and missile program. Who do you think is harboring terrorists and aiding and abetting a growing stream of terrorist fighters coming into Iraq? Iran already has acquired long range missile capability and from the former rogue nation, and now nuclear power, Pakistan. How stable will the region be after Iran becomes a nuclear power? How much more likely is it that Islamic terrorists will obtain nuclear weapons once Iran becomes a nuclear power? How much safer will the theater of operations be for US naval, ground and air forces deployed in the region be with a hostile anti American nuclear power on their front door step?

And after that, how about "liberating" Russia?

You can't be serious. Russia is now an ally and an important place for growing oil and gas investment and source of oil for the US. Russia is also be needed to help maintain stability and security for oil and gas development and investment in the Caspian region.
