I attended a John Edwards rally on the campus of our local University the other day that was held outdoors on a big open lawn on the quad. I saw 5 boys with foam sandwich signs that said flip on the front and flop on the back and walked up and down chanting "4 more years" to which the crowd drowned them out with "2 more months," entertaining while we waited but the police walked over and told the boys they were free to stand over on the side, but they were still in full view of the stage and relatively close to Edwards when he arrived. The newspaper said 4,000 people attended the rally and 36 Bush/Cheney supporters protested. 3 days later Dick "F@#$K YOU" Cheney came for a rally and the paper reported only 1,500 people showed up but 160 Kerry/Edwards supporters protested and were made to stay on the other side of the street and never in view of Cheney whose rally was in the Convention Center behind police and Secret Service barricades. So 0.9% opposition out in plain view of the candidate versus 10.7% hidden a block away from the cowardly VP. It sure says to me that there are a lot of people with strong convictions supporting Kerry and opposed to Bush and his evil wars and destructive environmental policy and lack of a health care plan. What take would a Republican fanatic like yourself put on those numbers?
