Brian, What has happened to your memory. I have stated, on several occasions, on this thread, that I believe the bible was written by men with the old testament coming from oral history that was thousands of years old before anyone decided to, or knew how, to write it down.
Moses had an unruly mob of Hebrews, that were about to rebel against his leadership, so he contrived the idea of going up the mountain, and carve out a set of rules, swear that the rules were directly from God. He had forty days to do it, and was supplied food, water, and anything else he needed by Joshua, and maybe Aaron.
Yes I believe that the bible is an invention of men, who in their inept way, were trying to prove there is a god to those that did not believe. It's no different than the book of Mormon, which makes me laugh because it is so ridiculous. Any body that has a bunch of golden plates, and writes down, on paper, what is etched into those golden plates, and then proceeds to lose them, is a fool, as I believe Joseph Smith was. |
