Sony, Fujitsu, and JAE to Cut Costs and Speed
Time-to-Market by Using Aspect's CSM Solution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspect Development, Inc.,(Nasdaq:ASDV) the leading provider of component and supplier management (CSM) solutions, today announced that Sony, Fujitsu, and JAE have selected Aspect's CSM solution to consolidate purchases of components and speed time to market of new products. The three new customers underscore the potential of the Japanese market as well as Aspect's commitment to it. Sony, Fujitsu, and JAE join the growing list of Aspect customers in Japan, which include Epson, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Matsushita, NEC, Ricoh, and Toshiba.

Aspect's flagship product, Explore, has been delivered in an internationalized Japanese language version. In addition, Aspect provides both English and Japanese language reference databases via Aspect's 2.2 million-part VIP Reference Databases and through a partnership with ELISNET of Japan.

Aspect's CSM solution will provide Sony, Fujitsu, and JAE with a constantly updated central repository of technical and business information. Additional benefits include easy, enterprise-wide access to vital information allowing product designers to choose the best part easily and quickly early in the design process thereby decreasing the design cycle. Each company conducted a full evaluation of commercial alternatives to current internally developed and maintained systems, and selected Aspect. Sony, Fujitsu, and JAE represent application of CSM solutions to Consumer Electronics, Computers, and Aerospace Defense industries respectively.
