"Doug R" is a perfect example of why Kerry is losing.

GWB has been President for four years and his record as CIC is known to all. If you don't like his presidential record, you don't vote for him, and vice-versa.

Constantly harping on Bush in the 1970s comes across as not just irrelevant to his qualifications for staying in office, but as a petty, mean-spirited attempt at diversion. The more that is piled on about Bush's distant past, the more voters realize that Kerry has no answer to Bush's record in office.

Kerry on the other hand has no record to run on but the senate, which he rarely discusses. The burden falls on him to prove his qualifications for the presidency, and so far the best he can do is four months in Vietnam 35 years ago.

No wonder he is losing so big-time.
