CBS News Concludes It Was Misled on National Guard Memos, Network Officials Say They weren't misled. They used a source with a known bias against the President and called it truth. Now, 2 weeks later, CBS says they can't authenticate the documents. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! If they can't authenticate them today then they couldn't authenticate them 2 weeks ago either. That means they knowingly ran a story using bogus facts. CBS wasn't duped! They were caught trying to influence an election using material they knew couldn't stand up to scrutiny. The apology they'll deliver today will be totally disingenuous because the only thing Dan Rather and CBS are sorry about is that they were caught.
