Walter D. Amaral Joins S3 Incorporated as Senior Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- S3(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq:SIII) announced today that Walter D.
Amaral has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Walter joins S3 from NetManage
Incorporated where he held the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Prior experiences include senior vice president and chief financial officer of Maxtor Corporation from 1992 till 1995, and

controller. Walter holds a Bachelor of Science, Business with a concentration in Accounting from San Jose State University.
