The opposition is alive and well. The general opinion of the American people now is that starting the war was a mistake. Time has not been favorable to your positions. As I wrote over a year ago: Okay, now you've "crushed" the regime in Baghdad and what do you have? That's right, another "protracted and indecisive war".

The neocons are talking about using Iraqi oil to pay for a war against Iraq. Given the ease with which guerilla warfare disrupts oil production, getting Iraq to pay for its own occupation would be as impossible as occupying the Rhineland to get Germany to pay reparations after WW1. #reply-18109399
