I agree with you. However, if you think of this completely rationally, then the payoff times the probability of that payoff is your expected benefit. What I'm saying is the benefit if we're successful in Iraq will be huge, as evidenced by Germany and Japan. However, what you are saying is that the probability of us succeeding is very low. I would agree with that. In fact, I think the probability of succeeding is low enough that the rewards times the probability is lower than the initial investment in terms of lives and dollars.

So yes, I'd like a speedy pullout as well, once elections are held.
