Denison McClean Lake Production

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Denison Mines Limited announced today that the
McClean Lake uranium facility in which Denison owns a 22.5 percent
interest, is now expected to commence production in the first half
of 1998, the latter part of the previously announced time frame.

Following the initial hearing of the Atomic Energy Control Board
("AECB") held on August 21, 1997, Cogema, as operator of the
McClean Lake joint venture, was advised that additional
information was required before the AECB could make its initial
determination on the granting of the license to construct the
tailings management facility at McClean Lake. Because all of this
information will not be available before mid September, it now
appears that construction of the tailings facility will not be
completed before winter freeze up. Construction of the mill and
infrastructure is substantially complete.

Denison will continue to make uranium deliveries at the current
levels under existing sales agreements until McClean Lake
production commences.
