We have bombed Iraq several times during 10 of those 13 years. And post-1991, Iraq had been so weakened that if we had let the inspections work for even a few more months we would have known the truth (and saved 1000+ lives and 200B dollars so far).

But we couldn't wait to find the truth. We had to invade (or else the smoking gun could well be a mushroom cloud... remember that????)
