I only know that I have lots of them every summer. I go on slug hunts armed with a bottle of salt. They hate salt...it dehydrates them and they die. It is particularly yucky when you are gardening and dip your hand into one of their egg nests or just get ahold of one that is hiding. The sun kills them so they look for damp, shady spots.....boy do we have allot of them where I live.
