Nixon, McNamara and Kissinger also met with North Vietnam officials. So did a lot of people. When will we see the photo of the dying Nixon hugging John Kerry with a big relieved smile on his face after apologizing to Kerry for attacking him unfairly? And how about the sincere apology from original smearer Charles Colson to Kerry for the dirty tricks they played on him? In case today's rightwing smear artists don't remember, Nixon waged the first smear campaign against Kerry and also searched hard for any dirt in his Vietnam record. He found zero. Kerry was clean. Nixon even had the FBI follow Kerry for two years. No sign of anything radical ever. The FBI proclaimed Kerry a moderate and that was in 1972.
