Get serious - we fought and won the war in matter of months with minimal casualties to us and them.

Unfortunately, the broader war on terror is and will be not dissimilar to fighting a "guerilla insurgency". These people need not be well-financed.

Bush has made the right call in referring to it as a "war". It is a different kind of war, but most thinking people had realized that by noon on 9/11/01.
