H i Michael, this is, I beleive, a real newby question. Let's say a stock closes
at 10 on Friday and I think it is going to go up Monday. If I put in a market order
to buy it over the weekend, am I taking a chance? My fear is based on the idea
I have that the market price as we open on Monday is NOT linked to the price
as we closed on Friday so if I put out a buy order for X shares at market that is
sitting there ready to go as we open on Monday, what if some wise old codger
goes trolling for people like me and puts up a lot of shares for, say, 12. Am I in
danger of buying at 12 just because his was the first sell order up and mine was
the first buy?

I guess to ask this more directly, how is the opening market price determined.
