I beg to differ with that interpretation of the Acts --

there is a marked difference between
1) folks spontaneously organizing themselves (exercising their free will) to meet the needs of others in their given group

and

2) simply having it dictated that they give up all ownership to a state.

Chapters following that chapter make it plain that it was free will giving -- the example of Ananias and Saphira -- who lied about what they gave and forefeited their lives as a result are a clear example -- they were both told it was a free will offering -- their sin was not holding back a portion of the price of the land, but making a show that they had given all of it when they really hadn't.

Regarding sharing -- I also disagree -- that system in Acts does work -- where folks of their own free will renounce ownership and provide what they have to serve others, but it isn't communism -- it's ... love.

Capitalism -- even the desire to produce and make gain -- private ownership of the means of production -- capitalism -- is most certainly NOT antithetical to Christianity.
