<<<If you negotiate a cease-fire which the other side promptly repudiates afterwards, how is that a "win"?>>>

Iraq surrendered. Iraq still had a government that could sign a cease fire. We were free to bomb them at any time - and we did when we had to. I don't remember any Iraqi's killing any of our soldiers after the cease fire.

That is what I call a win.

If you don't consider that a win and you consider what we have now a win - or that things are now better for us - I am a loss as to how to explain it to you in any better way.

<<<Have we won in Fallujah? >>>

Fallujah is a mess. What are we doing there? There was no one in Fallujah planning to harm us or the Israelis after Gulf War I. But, that is certainly not the case now.

<<< Have the Israelis won in Gaza and the West Bank? >>>

We have an obligation to insure Israeli safty, but are they safer now?

Would Israel have been safer if we concentrated on AQ and Iran?

<<<I'll mark you down as a supporter of pre-emption against Iran then, shall I?>>>

You can mark me down as some one who will not support further proliferation of nuclear weapons.

You can mark me down as someone who will support all moral and legal means to stop further proliferation of nuclear weapons - even if it means use of force in Iran, North Korea, or any other rogue state.

But I am against using evil means to fight evil. I don't think that will be necessary under proper leadership. We can achieve our objectives without resorting to the use of evil means. That does not preclude the use of force.
