EchoStar III Set For Sept. 29 Launch Monday, Sept. 29, is the tentative date for launch of EchoStar Communications' third satellite from Cape Canaveral, Fla. The launch date and times for EchoStar III are subject to change. EchoStar III, a Lockheed Martin AX2100 satellite, will be positioned at 61.5 degrees. It will be aboard an Atlas IIAS launch vehicle. The satellite will carry DISH Network programming as well as data delivery applications and retransmission of local channels for selected markets.
