Re ALD the last word is not spoken yet and I perfectly understand that a short position may be kept for years. Remember PVN, ACF or my darling, Metris? It took 4 years but then the stocks took an 80% hair cut.

Don't forget, in a bull market in particular with respect to corporates, ALD is a severe underperformer: During a timeframe where other issues sensitive to credit spreads multiplied (or also distressed hedge funds turned in between 80 and 100%), it mostly treads water. I had worse shorts myself...

Even the most comparable company, Cit Group is pretty much ahead of ALD.
