Brian, I have been very truthful with you. I have made on bones about not believing in the bible, which was written by human beings. The old testament being composed from oral legends that were many thousands of years old. That's just like a group of people that gather together, and one person starts to relate a story to the person next to him. By the time the story reaches the last person to hear it, the story has been so altered that it no longer has any relation to the first time it was told.
I said there was no bible during the time of Jesus. Thessalonica people "heard the word" after the death of Jesus, so I committed no falsehood there either. If when you refer to the scriptures, you mean the tales of the old testament, they are part of the afore mentioned legends. The writings of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John, came after the death of Jesus, so what they wrote was not written in the time of Jesus.
Ain't no forked tongue there, bubba.
This entire discussion is moot anyway. You cannot prove a single thing that you say, and neither can I. Religion is a matter of opinions, that have been elevated to the rank of beliefs. Either way, they it is a matter of human opinionated thinking, with no basis in fact. The true facts of the whole issue, will not be known until we are all dead, and even then, no one can prove that there is an after life. Personally, I hope there is, but there is no proof of such to which one can hitch his wagon.
It is all conjecture, regardless of what anyone's belief, or opinion is. |
