To All,

I've had a friend build a new system for me. Unfortunately, he's left me in the lurch when it comes to re-establishing my dual monitor set-up.

What I have is Windows XP, AMD 2400 MB CPU on a Soyo Motherboard Model SY-K7VME.

This particular mobo has a video output built in.

The system works just fine with one monitor attached to the provided VGA port on the motherboard.

We thought we could support the second video by simply putting in a PCI card. No joy. The system would either not work at all, or get through the BIOS screens and then go blank when it came time to show the XP desktop.

I've looked for an AGP dual-output video card without success so far. It needs to be 1.5 volts.

Heck, I can't even seem to find anything on this at the ATI website or at Tom's Hardware Guide.

Does anyone know about a dual-output card I should purchase?

Per the SOYO manual, I've checked the AMI bios and we seem to have the selection for the PCI/VGA setting correct.

The SOYO text reads as follows:

I don't see "Palette Snoop" on the AMI Bios choices, so I'm guessing that the CMOS setting:

"IRQ -- PCI/VGA -- "Yes"

is the equivalent. Then again, who knows what all this means? Certainly not me.

Can anyone suggest a knowledgeable video card vendor with an 800 number? I think a few seconds talking to an expert could be a real joy.

Thanks for any reply.
