The war went according to plan and the American military won in three weeks. It's the peace we lost.

There was a window of opportunity... to employ the Iraqi army, to restore power and water, pick of the trash, form a government, get the economy going... but Rumsfeld took a 1,500 page blueprint prepared by the State Department to do just that and tossed it in the trash and substituted his Chalabi solution.

Has the war in Iraq gone according to plan? No! But name any war that did.
