Years ago, my infant son fell down on the sidewalk of the condo where we were living at the time, gave himself a good whack on the head, and started crying.

Our neighbors happened to be Japanese, and happened also to see the accident. They reassured us with their Japaneese logic:

"Baby cry, no problem. Baby not cry, big problem"

With this FNM situation, the baby is not trying.
