As the saying goes, Denial ain't just a river in Egypt...

I don't see a deNial. I wanted to highlight a contradiction in comments on Europe.
- On the one hand many have criticized the EU for its cautious stance towards Turkey. Prior to the Iraq war there were even voices that Turkey should be invited to NAFTA - these voices became silent after Turkey refused passage to US troops.
- On the other hand there are those who expect Europe to become Islamic, like Lewis whom you quoted in your post. Islam immigrant populations don't grow that quickly so that dark vision must implicitly assume an admission of Turkey and a flooding of Europe by Turkish workers.

I expect Turkey to be admitted during my lifetime and I don't expect Europe to become dominantly Islamic.

BTW, did you see my post from yesterday? Any comments?

I have seen Americans criticize similar decisions as a restriction of free speech.
