I think this thread pointed out earlier that a modest 10% reduction in expenses could potentially result in over 100% improvement on the bottom line.

I realize that this is sort of a silly statement. If a company makes only 1 dollar in a quarter, all you need is a $100 dollar expense reduction to boost earnings by several orders of magnitude.

Still, the overall principle applies :-)
