Robert, I have, also, had an experience that saved my life, and I felt a saving hand in a physical manner while there was no earthly person anywhere near me. That is why I believe in the force for good, which is called Jesus. I have never disputed the existence of Jesus, nor the One that caused the universe to be formed, including the planet Earth.

That experience had nothing to do with proving the the bible is the word of God. So, you have credible proof that Jesus existed, and is still watching over us, but you have not yet given any credible evidence that the bible is anything but the writings of human beings. You quote passages from the bible to explain your belief in the bible. That is the incredible point that I am making. Yes, there is a deity that English speaking people call God, and a force for good, peace on Earth, and the do unto others bit, but have not yet shown any proof that the bible is the word of God. One who has experienced saving grace, does not need the bible to worship either of these entities. Once you know they exist, and have felt their power, any person with any sense, would believe in them without ever even reading the bible.

Would God contradict Himself? I think not, but the bible indicates that He does. In the ten commandments, He is supposed to have said that "Thou shall not kill", which with new translations, and changing the ridiculous language of King James II, it reads "You will not murder". Bearing that in mind, in Leviticus, God supposedly gives Moses a list of peoples to kill, including every man, woman, child, and to reduce their cities to rubble. If all that were true, then God has contradicted Himself, and I don't think he would do that. Moses, and Joshua, just attacked, murdered, and sacked the cities of any group that got in their way. The bible says that God has commanded that we no murder any person, regardless of the situation, and yet, that is exactly what Moses, and Joshua, did, supposedly at God's command. That is just one reason I believe that the bible is the invention of human beings. Partly to keep the people in line, and partly to make excuses for the atrocities that they committed.
