Right on Mq! I wrote to Kim and told him what I think too:

Dear Kim,

You seem to be extremely ungrateful people. Here is your article about CDMA royalties:

times.hankooki.com

How much money have Korean companies made from using QUALCOMM's inventions? You whine continually about the small payments for QUALCOMM's technology while raking in a vast fortune yourselves, which you wouldn't be doing if not for CDMA.

If you don't like CDMA, just stick with GSM, which charges much higher royalties [16% versus QUALCOMM's 5%] and doesn't work very well. Try sending megabits of data at low cost over GSM technology and see how you go.

I think you should write and thank Irwin Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi, Klein Gilhousen and all the others who worked so hard to invent a great technology and kindly allowed you to use it for a small fee.

You should fly to San Diego and make a presentation of some great Korean work of art or something, in appreciation.
