A couple weeks ago a 25-year old friend of my daughter's was here at the house & she was sold on Kerry. We got to talking about it, and her "issue" was along these lines -- from "why can't we just be nice" to "why does our CIA have to deal with criminals". It took a solid hour, but I explained to here that you can't negotiate by "being nice" and you can't MAKE DEALS WITH CRIMINALS without DEALING WITH CRIMINALS. She, being a fairly smart liberal, "got it". Unfortunately, most don't. You just have to get up in the morning willing to beat the crap out of these people or they'll beat the crap out of you. It is that simple.
