Oh, somewhere in the newspaper archives, probably
of the Boston Globe, you'll find some statements he
made on St. Patrick's Day or some event, if not
in the Senate, where he said something like
"for those of us who are Irish".

Since Kerry is, or sounds like, an Irish name,
he capitalized on it early in his political
career since it's obviously meaningful in
Massachusetts. Allowed the impression to be
conveyed that he was Irish.
