the post you were replying to was unbelievable

and it made me angry

it's obvious from reading some of the comments since the changeover, that many of the people who've frequented SI are clueless as to it's history and what has happened in the past

SI was sucked dry over the years - owners taking, taking the money and running - not updating, not keeping current, adding nothing - leaving a wobbly, unstable old shell of what it once was - on the edge of crashing and burning and not being able to rise again, to operate or function and the owners didn't care

Bob, our old SI admin, stepped up to the plate and bought SI to SAVE it

now unless Bob has won the lottery in the last few years, he HAS to make it a viable business - yes, a business he loves, for he is a fine programmer - but a business that can sustain enough income to operate, so he can continue to run it and we can continue to use it [how hard is that to figure out?]

how has he approached it? by stating he was going to build a new platform, by inviting US to participate if we chose to, step by step - to play with it, to make suggestions, to list our wants

and he stated from day one, he would TRY and grant our every wish IF it was feasible, doable, if it could come in under cost and still be a profitable entity

he has told us he will continue to add features - he will continue to search for cost effective ways to bring in the features we want, our 'wish list'

and I think he will

I haven't seen one united chat, stock, quote, portfolio site that has combined all of the above well - Yahoo is the biggest, but it is a god awful, stock chat site - the most invasive advertising I've seen - so bad, so non-user friendly that many have stopped using it as a chat site and only go to yahoo for quotes and stock research

Raging Bull is the just as bad - never-ending stock touting, spamming, advertising - both sites stock chat hell holes

we all have an opportunity here to be in on the ground floor and particpate in the development of what could possibly end up as the BEST, the leader, the model in stock chat sites - one with all the bells and whistles - and working, humming - the best of everything

doesn't that deserves our a little of patience, our help and our understanding?

rant over

[I feel so much better]
