Kevin,

I agree. PEP is the place to be in this equation. YUM is mature - too mature I think to become a stellar grower. KFC is everywhere now. I was in Tokyo and they are literally on every corner. Taco Bell, at least in the area that I live in, is under fierce competition with other (finer) Mexican resturants. I think Taco Bell could grow internationally more than the chick biz and I think this will be the key to YUM making it or becoming just another non-performer.

I know no one cares what I think - but I have to say this (in case some member of the board on YUM reads this post). But, when I order a "BEEF" burrito at Taco Bell - I don't want any of those damned beans mixed in with it!! IMO, TB could increase sales by upgrading their quality and quantity (fatter burritos) and by increasing their prices. In the 'affluent 90's' - I at least don't mind paying a bit extra for quality. Just my thoughts.

Regards,

Gary
