New Features
New Features
The following enhancements are new to StreetSmart Pro® software version 3.5. These enhancements are
grouped by topic and under each new feature is a hyperlink to direct you to the specific section of Online Help
where this item is discussed.
Alerts Changes:
• Persistent Alerts are now available, so you no longer need to be logged into the software for an alert to
fire.
Alerts and conditional orders can be active for as long as 60 days. To comply with CBOE regulations,
you must confirm all conditional orders for options before sending. There are now three types of alerts:
o Logon session only: same as current functionality
o Persistent/Day: Alert remains active for the current standard session only regardless of whether
you are logged on or not.
o Persistent/GTC: Alert remains active for 60 days regardless of whether you are logged on or not.

Account Details Changes:
• Unrealized P&L is displayed in the Positions tab.
Unrealized P&L displays in both a dollar and percent format with the column headings of +/- and $+/-.
P&L is calculated based on an average price paid per share (the same way the P&L is calculated for
mutual funds). Because there are limitations on the reporting of transactions/events that make up the
P&L amounts, P&L figures marked with an asterisk (*) denote possible incomplete P&L data.
• A dash “-“ in the Cost column indicates that the position information cannot be found. This will often
happen with positions established before, but not modified since, January 2004. You can specify the
dollar amount paid or received for the position by right-clicking on it and selecting Adjust Cost for
[symbol]. Then enter the dollar amount in the field provided and click OK.

• The Transactions Tab will now retrieve up to 90 days worth of transactions.
From the Account Details menu, click Transactions > Update and enter from 1 to 90 days.

Sector Tool:
• The Sector Tool is a new window that displays performance over many time periods for Indices, Sectors,
Industries, and Sub-Industries. Classifications are based on Morgan Stanley Capital International and
Standard & Poor GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard).

Trading Window Changes:
• ISLD and INCA have merged to form INET
The ECNs INCA and ISLD have merged to form a new ECN called INET. With version 3.5, Your
StreetSmart Pro® software provides direct access to INET, which will continue to route orders using the
same order routing methods ISLD used prior to the merger.
• INET, ARCA, BRUT, and BTRD ECNs are now acceptable venues for trading listed stocks
• Options Enhancements
o Highlight changing quotes
Red and green boxes surround the bid and ask quotes that have just changed. The color of the box
indicates the direction of the change.
o Automatic Scroll Option Chain
When the option chain is first displayed in the window, the current price of the underlying equity will
be used to automatically scroll to and highlight the put and/or call that is at the money. From this
default starting point, you can scroll to locate the option of interest.
o Size Column in Options Tab
Now, you have the ability to display a Size column for display in the Option chain and in the Option
Detail window.
o Last Sale & Venue Columns in Options Detail
You also have the ability to display a Time of Last and/or Exchange of Last to the Option chain
display.
o Load <option> Highlights Option
If loading an option symbol, this action will automatically take the customer to the Option chain and
highlight that symbol.

Charting Enhancements:
• The intra-day chart has been expanded to display 30 days of information for most securities (preferred,
some common classes, and indices not included). 30 days of intra-day data is available for charts with 5
minute bars or greater.
• The new Monthly chart averages the prices for the month into one point on the chart. Good for viewing
very long periods of time.
• New Studies:
o Stochastic RSI: Plots the Stochastic %D line of the RSI (Relative Strength Index) to represent
the level of the RSI indicator relative to its range over the number of periods you specify.
o Adaptive RSI: Adapts the standard RSI to a smoothing constant.
o Average True Range (ATR): Measures a security's volatility by averaging the True Range over a
period of time you specify when setting up the study. True Range is the greatest of the following:
- The current high minus the current low.
- The absolute value of the current high less the previous close.
- The absolute value of the current low less the previous close.
o Envelope Study: Employing an Envelope is similar to Bollinger Bands in that the Envelope helps
define the upper and lower boundaries of a security's normal trading range. When the security
reaches the upper band, this may indicate a sell opportunity, whereas the security reaching the
lower band may indicate a buy opportunity.
• New Logarithmic chart scaling capability enables you to compare percentage price changes rather than
absolute price changes. Charts displayed in this view present a uniform picture of performance and
permit the easy comparison of securities that differ widely in dollar amount.
Logarithmic scaling is most appropriate when comparing long-term charts that cover a wide range of price
levels.
• Fibonacci Arcs are now available as a separate view in the charts. The three arcs, which center on the
last point of the trend line you draw, help you identify where support and resistance may affect the price
as a stock trends up or down.
• Calculating Change from for Candlestick Charts
Allows you to select the basis for the calculation of candlesticks. By default this setting is Change from
Open, which calculates a bar as up or down based on the difference between the open and closing price.
When set to Change from Close, the color (or change) of each bar is determined by the difference
between the previous bar’s closing price and the current bars last (or closing) price.
• Historical Volatility Charting
Reflects how far an equity’s price has deviated from its average price over the number of periods you
specify. This study only applies to Daily, Weekly, and Monthly charts.
• Reset / Reset All Tick Data
Allows manually edited tick data to be reset the data for the period that is being viewed.

Market Data:
• Print Ticker
The Print Ticker allows you to filter and customize Time and Sales data for a list of securities. You can set
it to show all trades for the securities in your list of symbols, or you can filter out excess noise by adjusting
the increments at which a trade is posted.
Each trade, or print, can also display the trade price, quantity, and change from open or close for the
trade. You may watch up to 250 symbols in the Print Ticker
• High/Low Increments Filter
This new filter in the High/Low window Filter menu allows you to specify the quote change amount that
will trigger a print to display in the window.

News Changes:
• Up to 3 News windows may now be open per layout.

Watch List Changes:
• User Defined Sort Order
This allows you to more easily manage the symbol order of your lists.
• Match Field Coloring
This is a setting that allows you to match the coloring of all the fields for a given symbol based on any of
the fields that could potentially display positive or negative data. For example, if Change from Close
were selected, each row’s data would be colored based on whether the Change from Close was positive
or negative.

• Symbol Grouping
You can now also add Symbol Groups, which can help you organize your symbol lists and manage
screen space more effectively.
