My company is NOT planning to buy APM. Hopefully this holding does not classify us as an "institution." I wish I could say that this was an investment based on inside intelligence (or ANY intelligence!) but I just could not find anything I liked better than APM to buy based on financials. The whole thing started a few months ago pretty much as a bet with our controller, who had invested $1,000,000 with a mutual fund. I challenged her that I could do better with that amount of money and am now so far ahead of that mutual fund that the race appears to be almost over, unless the horse stumbles at the finish line. On top of that, I later invested money for our private charitable foundation, personal money and IRA money. Eventually most of the assets originally invested in a variety of stocks have now migrated to APM shares, with an average cost now of $27.50 but my only real loser was a recent purchase of QCOM and some early picks.
Overall, I am thankful for the people on this thread who have provided insight, encouragement, occasional humor and moral support on the dog days, several of which have happened recently. I learn something almost every day, such as today when I raised my sell price just above the $38.625 with the plan to buy it back at a lower price later in the day like I have done twice before in the past week. Separating the decision from the emotion is still the hardest part. |
